Hi there, I am Holly Peterson :)

I was first introduced to photography in high school when I took a film photography class. I loved the excitement of developing my own film and watching my prints come to life. My passion for photography grew during my junior year of high school when I moved to the Cayman Islands. With the ocean as my backyard, I took a routine walk up and down the shoreline and often brought my point-and-shoot camera. It became my therapy during a huge transition in my life, helping me focus on the beautiful area I was in rather than ruminate on how much I missed home.

After graduating high school, I moved back to Utah where I attended Utah Valley University and obtained my Bachelor of Fine Arts with a photography emphasis. I was exposed to many different techniques and styles studying art movements like impressionism which have greatly impacted and inspired my work. I explored different types of photography, but continually felt drawn to photographing landscapes.

I am captivated by the way nature demands our attention, by its power to make us pause and take in the scene. This has driven me to create imagery that evokes a similar experience where, for a moment, the viewer’s mind begins to quiet as the landscape consumes them.
